Music magazine article progress
Music magazine article progress
My original contents page did not have a colour on the background. I decided to add it as it fits well with the colour scheme. I added a pink and blue gradient behind the main image as it brings the focus to the artists featured. I originally had the pull quote at the bottom right of the main image, I decided to move it into the article as looking back on other magazines such as Q, I noticed that they include them in the articles and it makes them look more professional. I included two bold grey header and footer bars as they give the page a good structure. I changed the font for 'Us The Trio' as originally it was white. I decided to change the colour to fit the colour theme I have been using throughout my pages. I included a shadow effect on the font as well as it created a more interesting appearance. I needed to change the image of the girls as I have swapped one of the members. I chose for them to do a pose as I felt it was suitable for a pop magazine and it was more interesting for the readers.

I originally had the layout of my contents page structured differently. I decided to keep the images on the right hand side of the page. However, I have included two more subsidiary images and placed all three of them directly underneath the main image. Originally I did not have a 'Regulars' column, I decided to include it as I had dead space on the page. I added a text box around the review box as I felt it made it stand out more if the reader wanted to focus on that section. I also added bold red and black lines to separate the features and the regulars as they were not very clear to see individually. I added page numbers as they were important to include for the contents page as they direct the readers to main pages.

I have moved the image slightly to the side as it gives the splash more space to be clear for the reader. I have included a pug above Maria's head as I did not want it to be covering a lot of her hair. I have continued the colour theme of red, black and white with a small amount of pink in the masthead. I have moved the sell lines further up the page as they were covering the image slightly too much. I have changed from the original layout of my magazine front cover as I feel this layout looks more organized and effective. I have included a header and footer bar as it creates a good structure to the overall look. I feel that this layout and content gives the magazine a more professional appearance. I created a similar layout magazine to Q as I felt that the layout of it was appealing.

Creating the music magazine front cover Step one
As I was creating the masthead I decided to use the colour theme of black and pink. As my music magazine’s genre is pop I decided that pink was an appropriate colour to use as the main readers for my magazine are females according to my questionnaire. I picked a font that was slightly feminine but also masculine as the black makes it bold. I put the masthead at the top of the page in the centre as it is clear and stands out to the reader. I feel that it draws the readers eye to the masthead as it is a large font.
